About

We are facing urgent local and global challenges, but too often, conversations are polarized, extractive, or inaccessible. Many people want to connect, contribute, and learn but don’t know where to start, or feel unwelcome.

We, an informal crew of thinkers, doers, and dialogue facilitators, want to connect with you!

  • Ace continues to be concerned.

  • Amira is an educator and poet who grounds and holds space for her community.

  • Greg is a farmer and a musician. He currently lives in Toronto. He will be back.

  • Jan believes in the power of nonviolence.

  • Jordana believes in education and that’s why she is currently in school.

  • Katrin does her best.

  • Linda is still seeking knowledge, understanding, and truth.

  • Magdelanye is a poet, peace dancer, lover of nature, and energetic bodyworker.

  • Rafa loves playing outside. He has moved. We are pretty sure he will be back.

  • Shyanne believes in the urgent need to bring honesty and courage to the forefront of how we live our lives.

Talks & Tides creates a welcoming environment rooted in friendship, Indigenous sophistication, and community where frank dialogue flows, people eat together, and ideas are shared without hierarchy. It’s community building, not box-checking.

Should you attend?

If you crave a sense of belonging and shared purpose, and are looking for collaborations instead of top-down decision-making, you should attend.

Who benefits?

When cared for by informed and connected people, who hold or respect Indigenous sophistication, the land benefits. When the land benefits, we all benefit.

What is our vision?

A community that knows how to collaborate for the benefit of all.

What do we want to achieve on December 6?

New friendships. Honest dialogue. Shared meals. Next steps that emerge naturally.
